The Hunger games review and OOYD
Hi everyone, yesterday was the premiere of The Hunger Games movie, i loved the books so i was very excited to see how the movie would be made ( like the place, costumes and everything)
First i will do an outfit of yesterday, ( when i went to the premiere)
i wore braided my hair, because i was kind of in the mood to do it ( mostly because of Katniss haha) and also because it has been so long since the last time i braided my hair.
the nail polish that i am wearing is by Sally Hansen called Brick Wall
The Summary - In a not-too-distant future, North America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcast throughout Panem. The 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss' young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district's female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.
anyway i wanted to do my review of the movie so be warned THERE WILL BE A LOT OF SPOILERS so if you haven't seen the movie or read the book then stop reading right here haha.
ok so first i want to say that i LOVED the movie, most of the parts in the movie were just like i imagined them while i was reading the book, and i think that Jennifer,Josh and Liam did a great job portraying Katniss, Peeta and Gale.
I will now explain which parts in the movie i didn't like and why.
I thought that the part where haymitch was drunk at the reaping and stumbling and falling on stage should have been in the movie, when i was watching it the whole time i was thinking where is he ? :S lol.
In the book Katniss doesn't find water right away and become dehydrated and asks haymitch to send her water and when he doesn't send it she knows that he is sending her a message that there is water near so she tries hard to go look for it, but in the movie she finds water right away and doesn't bcome dehydrated like in the book, i kind of thought that that scene should have been in the movie rather than that she finds the water right away.
I also thought that they should have shown Rue's and Katniss's friendship a little longer, but i love the way Jennifer acted when Rue died, it was exactly like i imagined it.
It kind of bothered me that they didn't put the redheaded Avox girl in the movie, i kind of wanted to see her and the flashback of when she was running away and got caught while Katniss and Gale saw her, and how Katniss told her that she should have saved her that day.
The Mockingjay pin also kind of bothered me haha, in the book a girl named Madge who is the daughter of the mayor was the one that gave it to her after the reaping, but in the movie she got it from an old lady and then gave it to her sister but after she volunteered her sister gave it to her.
and one last thing was Peeta's dad, in the book he visited her after the reaping, talked to her and gave her cookies, but he wasn't even in the movie.
other than that i thought the movie and the books were great and that you should definitely see/read it/them, the first time i saw the hunger games books it didn't interest me at all, but after i saw the trailer i just HAD to read the book haha, the trailer really interested me and made me want to read the books, and i am glad that i did.
i saw this tutorial of Effie's nails ( the ones she had at the reaping) and i am definitely going to do them <3, they are so cute.
it's by cutepolish
cutepolish also did this tutorial ( in the book Katniss has nailpolish like this in the interview and she didn't take it off when the games started).
Bye, and May the odds be ever in your favor ~ haha
