The Duff by Kody Keplinger: Review
Author: Kody Keplinger
Published: September 10th 2010
Main Characters: Bianca Piper, Wesley Rush, Casey Blithe, Jessica Gaither, Toby Tucker.
Summary: Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is cynical and loyal, and she doesn’t think she’s the prettiest of her friends by a long shot. She’s also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush. In fact, Bianca hates him. And when he nicknames her “the Duff,” she throws her Coke in his face.
But things aren’t so great at home right now, and Bianca is desperate for a distraction. She ends up kissing Wesley. Worse, she likes it. Eager for escape, Bianca throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with him.
Until it all goes horribly awry. It turns out Wesley isn’t such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she’s falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone.
Review: I can honestly say that i haven't enjoyed a book this much in a long time, I loved the storyline, the characters, just about everything, i enjoyed every chapter and page, there wasn't even one page that bored me,
Bianca: I really loved Bianca and her personality, she was sarcastic, witty and just really likeable in my opinion
Wesley: at first when he came in to the book the whole time i was just like:
Toby: I honestly never liked him (i didn't hate him) but i didn't love him either, i did think he was a gentleman and really sweet, too sweet, i like guys who have some flaws (not too big of flaws but yeah) but that's my opinion
Stars: I give this book 5 stars out of 5, i just really loved it and i recommend it to anyone
Will you reread ?: I will definitely reread this book a thousands of times and never get sick of it, i loved it that much
Some Quotes that i love (you don't have to read this part because there might be spoilers)
“Wesley Rush doesn't chase girls, but I'm chasing you.”
“Go try your charming act on some tramp with low self-esteem, because I'm not falling for it.”
“No matter where you go or what you do to distract yourself, reality catches up with you eventually.”
“Don’t lie to yourself because you think nit’s safer. Reality doesn’t work like that…”
“Thanks,” Toby said. “And if Wesley breaks your heart, I promise to . . . well, I would say I’d kick his ass, but we both
know that’s physically impossible.” He frowned down at his skinny arms. “So I’ll write him a strongly worded letter.”
“I wanted to make sure you were fine...and that he was okay, too. You didn't, like, stab the boy, did you? I mean, I totally disapprove of murdering hotties, but if you need help burying the body, you know I'll bring the shovel.”
