Waiting on Wednesday: Talon by Julie Kagawa

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Book Title: Talon (Talon #1)

Author: Julie Kagawa
Expected Publication: October 28th 2014 by Harlequin Teen
Hardcover has: 400 pages

Synopsis:  Long ago, dragons were hunted to near extinction by the Order of St. George, a legendary society of dragon slayers. Hiding in human form and growing their numbers in secret, the dragons of Talon have become strong and cunning, and they're positioned to take over the world with humans none the wiser.

Ember and Dante Hill are the only sister and brother known to dragonkind. Trained to infiltrate society, Ember wants to live the teen experience and enjoy a summer of freedom before taking her destined place in Talon. But destiny is a matter of perspective, and a rogue dragon will soon challenge everything Ember has been taught. As Ember struggles to accept her future, she and her brother are hunted by the Order of St. George.

Soldier Garret Xavier Sebastian has a mission to seek and destroy all dragons, and Talon's newest recruits in particular. But he cannot kill unless he is certain he has found his prey: and nothing is certain about Ember Hill. Faced with Ember's bravery, confidence and all-too-human desires, Garret begins to question everything that the Order has ingrained in him: and what he might be willing to give up to find the truth about dragons.

What I think: First of all, that cover is so freaking gorgeous I just want to hug it and stroke it...and just ugh... haha

When I first found out about this book I was like meh... dragons aren't really my thing, but then I saw the cover and read the synopsis and now I need this book in my life, I cannot wait for it to come out so I can read it.

What books are you most looking forward to coming out ?

How I spent my Saturday

Hey everyone I want to start blogging more about my daily life and try to do more ootd's since I haven't done one in a long time, I used to love doing that but for a while now my main theme was book reviews so I am trying to throw in more and different kinds of posts since this blog is not supposed to be only about book reviews and book stuff.
I don't take selfies a lot( and when I do, I take like a 100 and choose the one I hate the least lol) but since I put on makeup and made myself all purrty I wanted to take a selfie, and I quite like this one ( except for the fact that I look white like a ghost haha)

My OOTD:
I wore my old leather jacket and I have no idea where it's from it used to belong to my sister but she gave it to me and now I wear it all the time.
The top that I am wearing is actually not a top, it's a dress that I got from H&M, I just love the way it looks as a top so i tucked it into my jeans lol and I quite like the way it looks.
The Jeans I am wearing are from B.Young
I have no idea where I got these boots, I forgot because I bought them a long time ago haha.

I went shopping with my mom (well more like just looking around because we weren't planning on buying anything (but I did and that will come later in the post), and after we were done we went to this café we always go to after we finish shopping and I got myself a mango smoothie ( which was delicious btw) and since I am trying to eat healthier I really hope this smoothie was healthy lol, if not then..oh well.

I didn't buy much at the mall only three things I really needed - a bikini, a beach bag, and pajamas ( all my other long pajamas have holes on them and I've worn all of them out, I really needed new pajamas haha.)
This is the bikini and the beach bag I got ( I never buy expensive beach bags because they get ruined in the sun and sand anyway so this bag was really cheap and it kind of matches my bikini so I got it)
The bikini I bought I got in Cubus, they had a sale on bikinis and I loved the way this one looked on me so I had to have it (there was also a yellow one with pink laces that I loved but I liked this one a little better)
These are the pajamas I got, sorry for the blurry picture, it has cute kitties and hearts on it haha.
After we came home from shopping we went on a nice bike ride around the lake ( I think it's a lake, I am not sure lol)

When I got home I could barely move ( I like running much more than biking) and took the best shower ever while my parents grilled a delicious meal
The meat on my plate that kind of looks like poop is Cevapi which is delicious (although it sucks that it looks like poop hahaha) and a potato, garlic bread, corn, and salad.

There was a lot more meat and other stuff I was just in the mood to eat this and after I finished that I got more because it was delicious haha.

So that is how I spent my Saturday, What did you do ?

Beers, Hens and Irishmen by Meghan Quinn - Book Review

Book Title: Beers, Hens and Irishmen (Warblers Point #1)
Author: Meghan Quinn
Pages: 264

Synopsis: Fiona O’Leary wants nothing more than to flee away from the small town she grew up in, her three extremely over protective brothers, and her Irish parents. But leaving Warblers Point is not that simple, especially when she is the bar maid at the local pub she owns with her three brothers. After a two year relationship with local Irishman, Murphy Ryan, sharing nothing but each other’s beds, she realizes she wants more out of a relationship besides sex. But somehow she keeps winding up in his arms wishing she could break away but finds the task impossible when her family is head over heels in love of the idea of Murphy and Fiona together.

Booker Hall, world re-known director, finds himself living an empty and unfulfilled life. The people around him are fake, narcissistic and only care about his money. In an act of desperation he decides to enlist his sister for some help, give himself a makeover and go to a place where no one would recognize him. Never did he think he was going to fall in love with an unsuspecting bar maid with whiskey colored eyes and an over-bearing family.

The minute Fiona lays eyes on Booker, she knows she is sunk. His devilish grin, movie star looks and charming heart are hard to avoid and she constantly finds herself gravitating toward him. The only bad thing about Booker is that he is a tourist and living in a touristy town she has learned that getting involved with a non-local only brings heartache. Instead of giving into Booker, she finds herself debating which relationship is safer; an empty relationship but fulfilling sex life with Murphy or a deep and meaningful relationship with Booker that could only bring heartache.

Beers, Hens and Irishmen dives into the complexity of Fiona’s love life, the crazy antics of her three brothers, as well as her two overbearing and heavily Irish speaking parents. Fists fly, hearts are broken, beer is guzzled and deceit is formed amongst comrades while the O’Leary’s take over Warblers Point in the search for love and what makes them happy.

My Review: I saw this book on my friends kindle a couple of months ago and recently I asked her if I could read it because it really interested me (I love anything Irish ever since I was very young, I just find Ireland so beautiful (also Scotland but that doesn't matter here haha)), and yes I know this story doesn't take place in Ireland but it does have Irish characters and well yeah I loved that haha.

I fell in love with this story and the characters the moment I started reading, even though I didn't like Booker in the beginning, but I got over that the more I read the story and I ended up loving Booker, although I am more in love with Fiona's brothers haha (for obvious reasons :P)

I read this story in one day, I had to walk my dogs out and while I was walking them I took my friends Kindle with me on the walk and just read haha (it was really hard to walk and read and try to be careful with where I was walking haha), I just couldn't put it down I had to finish reading it and know what happened and boy I am so happy with how it ended up (well except for a few things I won't talk about because they are spoilers)

I don't have too much more to say about this book except for that I absolutely loved it and I need the second books in my hands, I just need it haha.

Stars: 5 stars out of 5

Would you re-read it ?: Yes I definitely am sure that I will reread this book sometime in the future, I really loved the characters in this book and I already miss them :/

Books I recommend if you are into: Fashion

Hey everyone, I wanted to do something new for my blog and I decided to do a recommendation post where recommend books to you for different things you might be into like Fashion, or Makeup, or if you are into Romance or more adult books and stuff like that.

I am thinking of doing this every week but I am not sure yet.

My first post will be about Fashion, I have a lot of books that I love that are about fashion and I wanted to share them with you incase you were interested in buying any of these books but weren't sure yet if it was worth it.

The first book is Fifty dresses that changed the world.
I admit that the main reason that I bought this book was definitely because it had Audrey Hepburn on the cover (She is my absolute favorite actress)but once I opened the book I just fell in love.

It has a lot of beautiful dresses that did change the world (mainly fashion world haha), on one side there is a picture of the dress and on the other side they explain why this dress is so iconic and stuff like that and I just really enjoyed that.

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Fifty-Dresses-Changed-Design-Museum/dp/1840915382

If you go on that Amazon link you can have a sneak peak into the book.

The second one is Nina Garcia's What to wear for every occasion Look Book.

This one I bought a long time ago and feel like it really helped me out with what to wear and what not to wear for multiple occasions, If you know a lot about fashion and what you love then you don't really need this book, but if you aren't exactly confident and aren't sure what to wear when you go to some occasions, then I really recommend this book to you.

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8666605-nina-garcia-s-look-book?ac=1

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Nina-Garcias-Look-Book-Hardcover/dp/B003ZES9FQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1399551839&sr=1-2&keywords=nina+garcia%27s+look+book

The third book is The teen Vogue hand book, An insider's guide to careers in Fashion.
I bought this book when I was really interested in fashion and I wanted to work in fashion ( right now I have no idea what I want to do :/) and I feel like it has great tips for someone who want's to work in fashion, it helps you a lot and you learn a lot from this book in my opinion.

There is a quote in here that I really liked and wanted to share, It's by Natalie Massenet: With each job you have, you'll learn a skill to use for your next job. Every experience in your life goes on to shape who you are. Nothing is wasted.

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6664404-the-teen-vogue-handbook?ac=1

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Teen-Vogue-Handbook-Insiders-Careers/dp/1595142614/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1399552031&sr=1-1&keywords=the+teen+vogue+handbook

The fourth book is Chanel Collections and Creations

I basically have no words for this book I really love it and I feel like everyone who loves fashion definitely should own this book, it is so gorgeous, it has beautiful pictures and it's just perfect.

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1782003.Chanel?ac=1

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Chanel-Collections-Creations-Dani%C3%A8le-Bott/dp/0500513600/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1399552830&sr=1-1&keywords=chanel+collections+and+creations

The last book is Alexander Mcqueen: Savage Beauty

This one is my favorite out of all these books, It is so freaking beautiful I am having a hard time trying to come up with an explanation for this book haha.

It has the most beautiful collections if you are into fashion and art you definitely need this book, It is perfection haha.

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10152951-alexander-mcqueen?ac=1

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Alexander-McQueen-Savage-Beauty-Metropolitan/dp/0300169787/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1399553059&sr=1-1&keywords=alexander+mcqueen+savage+beauty

So those are all the books that I have and wanted to share, if there are any that you love that I don't have on my list feel free to share and I will check it out

Do you own any of these books and do you like them ?

Waiting on Wednesday: The retribution of Mara Dyer

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Book title: The Retribution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer #3)
Author: Michelle Hodkin
Expected Publication: November 4th 2014
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15768409-the-retribution-of-mara-dyer

Synopsis: It had to end sometime, but Mara had no idea it would end like this. Experience the mind-blowing conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Mara Dyer trilogy.

Loyalties are betrayed, guilt and innocence tangle, and fate and chance collide in this shocking conclusion to Mara Dyer’s story.

What I think: So far I've only read the first book and I wanted to read the second book right away because I did really like the first book, but then I was spoiled by what was going to happen at the end of the second book so I decided to wait to read it until the third and last book came out, that way I can just continue reading right away and I won't have to cry waiting for the third book haha (it comes out in November!, I wouldn't be able to wait that long! haha.).
I am very excited for this book to come out although I was pissed off that they pushed the publication date, I need this book in my hands now! haha.

Have you read the first or second book ? If yes what did you think of it ?

What is your opinion on night time face creams ?

Hi everyone!, I've been trying to save more money lately and I finished my night time face cream that I use and really liked and I do want to buy it again but since I am saving my money to pay off some stuff I need to pay off, I don't want to continue buying something if it's useless, I wanted to ask you guys what you think of night time face creams, do you think they are just crap that they sell us and that it doesn't work, or do you think it works well and that I should continue using it ? (also what are some of your favorite non expensive night time face creams ?)

I also wanted to ask you girls if think that just using regular face cream at night(before you go to sleep) is good or is it really bad for your skin ?

These things have been on my mind a lot lately and I would love to hear your opinions and hopefully there will be a lot of opinions because I really want to read them.
